Switching and transmission Access Network Support Engineer
The position:
The successful candidate will be responsible for configuration implementation and maintenance procedures for all the network elements and technologies that compose the switching access network. Will participate in the safe integration, introduction & development of peripheral systems or services and establish procedures for technical acceptance for the BSS/UTRAN, DSL network and the transmission backhaul network.
Responsibilities include: - Preventive maintenance tasks in order to achieve high QoS and to minimize the service outages of the switching and transmission access network.
- Daily switching operation and maintenance upon the network and ability to identify and troubleshoot problems and refer unusual system behavior to the Switching Access Network Support Manager in order to resolve important & urgency problems/issues.
- Provide feedback and coordinates accordingly upon Feasibility Studies deliver by the Planning and Radio Planning Department related to new installations (services/systems or hardware) that are planned to be integrate within the network or to be supported by the section.
- Responsible of the roll out procedures for installation, integration or upgrade new or existing services (systems) for the switching and transmission access network.
- Provide 24/7 on call support (weekly basis) towards the NMC section. Candidate Profile:
Qualifications and Experience required
- CCNA certification - Engineering degree level (minimum 4-years based) - Minimum of 1 year of experience in the field of telecommunication Competencies: - General overview of the GSM/GPRS/UMTS standard
- Very good knowledge of radio network protocols (BSS/UTRAN protocols) and principles.
- Experience of SDH technology would be considered an advantage
- Experience of IP, DSL Technologies, ADSL2+; SHDSL
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux considered an advantage
- Knowledge on development platforms (MySQL, MatLab, Oracle etc).
- Fluent written and spoken Greek and English The Package
