Demonstrating its social responsibility and cultural sensitivity in practice, MTN Cyprus, assumed official sponsorship of the 20th National School Theatre Competition, whose first phase has been completed successfully. The National School Theatre competition is organized every year by the Cyprus Theatre Organisation and the Ministry of Education and Culture. This year, 64 secondary, technical and private schools participated. The competition is now in its second phase where three plays -- one from each region -- have been selected, and will be presented at the Latsia Municipal Theatre in Nicosia, on April 27, 28 and 29. The finalists are the Kykkos Lyceum in Nicosia, the Pancyprian Lyceum of Larnaca and the Polemidia Lyceum in Limassol. With the contribution of MTN, the three school teams will take part in an educational trip to Greece between May 1st and 3rd. During their stay, the students will watch a performance of the National Theatre and visit the ancient theatre of Epidavros. The MTN Group has created a long tradition of supporting culture and athletics in the countries it operates. Through these sponsorships the MTN Group gives back the trust it receives from society.
