MTN Cyprus will be the host country of the Y’ello Stars Annual Winners awards of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. A gala evening will take place in mid-February at Anasa Hotel, Paphos, in the presence of Group President and CEO Phuthuma Nhleko, honouring the Group’s employees of the MENA operations who have gone the ‘extra mile’ in 2008. The Y’ello Stars Annual Awards are part of the MTN Group’s employee-motivated initiatives designed to enhance its people’s potential to grow as future leaders and responsible individuals. It appreciates and rewards MTN employees who have excelled and develops the Can-Do culture of the group which ultimately benefits its customers.
Y’ello Stars lets employees nominate colleagues who have shined in the categories of Star Performance, Knowledge Share, Customer Service and MTN Values. Anyone within the MTN Group can nominate a coworker or a team of peers from any department within the Group. An overall winner for each category will be announced at the gala dinner and awarded.
The gala dinner will be part of a three- day event in Cyprus, with all 24 nominees from all MENA operations present along with their nominators and partners and senior Group officials.
Commenting on the occasion, the CEO of MTN Cyprus, Mr Bassel Jamaleddine said “we are really proud of hosting this important event for the MTN Group. The Y’ello Stars awards ceremony is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our peers in meeting and exceeding management, customer and employee satisfaction”.
