MTN Cyprus announced the sponsorship of Anorthosis Ammochostou Football Team for the next two years, during a press conference at Antonis Papadopoulos stadium. Anorthosis sponsorship adds another member in MTN’s sports family, enlarging MTN’s contribution in the Cypriot sports and community. The MTN Group considers that its support to sports is part of its commitment to participate in the development of the communities it operates in. The MTN Group has created a long standing tradition in supporting football worldwide as it considers football to be the common language for people around the globe. Within this framework MTN Group is the sponsor of the African Cup of Nations in 2008 and the Official Sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Mr. Bassel Jamaleddine, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to MTN to support the team that upgraded the Cyprus Football Standards with its hard work and sportsmanship.
