MTN adds colour to the lives of our children. In June, the staff and management of MTN have literally added colour to the lives of children in Cyprus. In the frame of the “21 Days of Y’ello Care” programme, the staff of MTN painted the Foundations “Dikaioma Zois” in Nicosia, “Agios Georgios” in Larnaca and “Agios Stefanos” in Limassol with new lively and refreshing colours. Welcoming the first day of the summer, MTN also organized a special party for children at Agios Dimitrios Park in Strovolos. The funds from the event were donated to the Foundation “Elpida”, for children with cancer and leukemia. The “21 days of Y’ello Care” is a volunteerism programme throughout the 21 operations of the MTN Group in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. This initiative was launched in 2007 aiming to encourage the staff of MTN Group to become personally involved in community uplifting projects. This year with the message “volunteerism strengthens society, improves social cohesion and promotes care and trust among people”, MTN’s staff has volunteered to work in various charity projects at their local communities. MTN CEO Bassel Jamaleddine thanked his colleagues for their contributions and for promoting the social values of MTN: “I am very proud to see so many of our colleagues volunteering for a second consecutive year, offering to our community and putting a smile to children’s faces. MTN is determined to continue and enforce this initiative for many years to come.”
