MTN Friends

With the MTN Friends service you can select the MTN number(s) of your closest friends and call them for free (for MTN PayMonthly subscribers) or with 50% discount (for MTN PayAsYouGo subscribers), with only a small monthly fee.

The MTN Friends service gives you the flexibility to choose among 3 options, the one that suits your needs best. The options are MTN Friends 1, 3 and 5. According to the option you will select, you will then be able to nominate 1, 3 or 5 friends respectively.

How can I activate the service?
First you will have to decide on the number of friends you would like to add to your MTN Friends list (1, 3, or 5).
To activate the service send the following SMS to 9192:
FRIENDS ON 1              (for 1 number)
FRIENDS ON 3              (for 3 numbers)
FRIENDS ON 5              (for 5 numbers)
*You will receive an SMS confirming the activation of the service on your account.

How can I add friends to my MTN Friends list?

You can add friends to you MTN Friends list by sending the following SMS for each friend, to 9192:
FRIENDS ADD 9XXXXXXX
*9XXXXXXX refers to the number you want to add to your MTN Friend list.
*You will receive an SMS confirming the addition of your MTN Friend to your list.

How can I change a number from my MTN Friends list?

You can change your MTN numbers at any time, by sending the following SMS to 9192:
FRIENDS CHANGE 9YYYYYYY 9XXXXXXX
*9YYYYYYY refers to your existing number that you wish to replace.
*9XXXXXXX refers to the new MTN number that you want to add to your MTN Friends list.
*You will receive an SMS confirming the change you have requested.

How can I check my MTN Friends list?

If at any time you wish to review the numbers you have added to your list, you can send the following SMS to 9192:

FRIENDS STATUS

*You will receive a confirmation SMS with the selected MTN numbers.

How can I deactivate the service?

If you wish to deactivate the service, you will have to send the following SMS to 9192:

FRIENDS OFF

The deactivation of the service will be executed at the end of the current month.

*You will receive a confirmation SMS.

Terms and Conditions
• MTN Friends service is available for both Pay Monthly and PAYG subscribers.
• PAYG subscribers can add only the MTN Friends 3 plan with 50% discount on their calls.
• The nominated MTN Friends number can only be MTN subscribers
• The free or discounted calls are applicable only for calls made whilst in Cyprus, to other MTN subscribers who are within Cyprus.
• Customers activating the service part way through a month will be changed on a prorated basis
• Customers can deactivate the service any time and date of the month. The execution of request will be done on the last day of the month.
• For PAYG subscribers the monthly fee will be removed from their available balance on the 1st day of the month.
