Transfer of Airtime – Me2UIn order to add convenience and flexibility to our MTN PayAsYouGo subscribers, MTN has implemented the electronic over-the-air refill also know as transfer of airtime or Me2U. This service allows all prepaid subscribers to transfer airtime/credit to other MTN prepaid subscribers.
How does the customer use the service?All prepaid subscribers will be able to transfer credit to another MTN PayAsYouGo subscriber as long as they have €1 or more in their account.
Prepaid MTN Subscribers will dial the following: *200*MSISDN*amount*0# and press call/send MSISDN = number you wish to transfer airtime to (9xxxxxxx) Amount = one of the following denominations: €1, €2, €3, €4, €5, €6, €7, €8, €9 and €10 (written as: five euros = 5 or 05)
You will receive a message to confirm the transfer and follow the steps:You may add contacts. - “Press 1 to continue or press 2 to cancel” Reply by dialling 1 or 2. - By dialling 2, the transaction will be cancelled and you will receive a confirmation SMS - If you dial 1 to continue a message will be displayed that you have successfully/unsuccessfully transferred the amount to the other persons account and the receiver will also receive a message to inform them of the transfer and show their total balance: Your transaction will fail for the following reasons:Online. User is online. - If you transfer an amount greater than €10; - If you attempt to send an amount larger than your remaining balance; - If you enter any other PIN code than “0” (which is predefined for all users); - If you attempt to send airtime to a deactive number.
Pricing The service will be available free of charge and you will only be charged the amount which you wish to transfer. Your available balance together with the transferred amount will be sent by SMS and the receiver will also be sent a separate SMS with the total balance of their account once you have successfully transferred airtime.
Terms and Conditions- The service is only available for prepaid MTN subscribers including holiday chat, half price pack, Baghdatis pack and any other PAYG promotional offer at any time.
- Prepaid subscribers should have at least €1 and above in their account in order to utilize the service.
- Subscribers transferring and receiving credit should be active subscribers.
- Inactive subscribers will not be able to send credit, but they will be able to receive airtime, however they will not be able to use their credit since their validity will not be extended. They will have 10 days thereafter to top up their account and extend their validity period.
- Deactive subscribers will not be able to send nor receive airtime.
- Subscribers will not be able to transfer an amount greater than their account balance to another MTN subscriber.
- New MTN PayAsYouGo subscribers will be able to transfer their inclusive airtime.
- Prepaid subscribers may only transfer funds in the following denominations: €1, €2, €3, €4, €5, €6, €7, €8, €9 and €10
- Subscribers may not transfer credits of decimal value – eg: €0.50.
- By transferring credit to someone else’s account does not extend their validity period (The message they will receive is the original validity prior to the transaction)
- The service is available under MTN network as well as under national roaming.
- The service will also be available under international roaming. (This however, is dependant on the roaming operator and as MTN we do not have full control of the service) ie: When a subscriber is roaming abroad, an MTN customer who is in Cyprus may transfer credit to them and vice versa. (When a customer is abroad, they may transfer credit to subscribers in Cyprus) as well as in the case where both MTN PayAsYouGo customers are abroad, they may transfer airtime to each other as long as the roaming operator allows this.
- Subscribers will be able to transfer credit as many times as they wish per day. There is no limit to this and this also applies for subscriber receiving credit.
