MTN Rewards – The New MTN PayMonthly Loyalty Scheme
Effective as of 2nd of June 2008, we are proud to introduce the launch of MTN Rewards”, our new and comprehensive loyalty scheme, offering privileges and rewards to our valuable pay monthly subscribers for their ongoing preference of MTN products and services.

How does the scheme work?

MTN Rewards” functions in a very simple way: you collect loyalty points according to your usage. The more you use your MTN PayMonthly line the more loyalty points you will receive. With MTN Rewards” whenever you make a phone call or send an SMS to any destination, surf the net with your MTN Mobile USB Modem or use your BlackBerry to read your emails, you collect loyalty points that you can redeem for a new handset or any other product available in the shops.

What are loyalty points & how do I get some?

A loyalty point is the value of the reward that you will receive according to the service you used. Loyalty points will be awarded in accordance to the displayed below table and for the specifically listed services.

When and how can I redeem my points?

Loyalty points can be redeemed at any time (a minimum of 1,000 points will be required), as long as you are an active subscriber with no outstanding payments. You can check the value of your points by using the table shown below. The redemption categories with respective amounts allocated to them are fixed on intervals of 1,000 . In the cases when your point balance is between two of the fixed intervals you would be required to use either the closest lower interval or to wait until you accumulate the points corresponding to the next interval. Every 1,000 points correspond to €7 and the highest amount of points which can be redeemed at once is 100,000.

You can redeem your loyalty points for a handset or any other product of your choice available at the time, from MTN, Germanos shops and the selected distributors. Depending on your choice and available points, you may either receive a handset, laptop, game consoles, cameras or any other accessories for free or in a combination of points and payment.

Will I ever lose my loyalty points?

Your loyalty account will become inactive in the event of a bar-out or suspension of your line. If such cases occur, you will be excluded from bonus points that potentially may be given during this period. Once you settle your outstanding balance, your loyalty account will become active again. However, in case of 2 or more line suspensions within any calendar year your collected points will be lost.

Expiry of loyalty points

Unless you redeem your loyalty points they will expire in a period of 2 years from the invoice date related to the respective usage of services.

How can I start participating in the loyalty scheme?

You can register for “MTN Rewards” either by calling 136 (free of charge when calling from MTN line) or by visiting any MTN or Germanos shop or selected Distributors and subscribing to MyMTN. All active MTN PayMonthly subscribers are eligible to enroll to the loyalty scheme as long as there is no outstanding payment.

How can I check my point balance?

We would be informing you of your current point balance once a month through SMS. You can also check your points either by calling 136 (free of charge when calling from MTN line)or by sending a blank SMS to 1144 (SMS would be charged 2 cents including VAT) and through MyMTN. Your available point balance will reflect the points you have accumulated up to and including the latest invoice paid.
