MTN VoiceSMSMTN VoiceSMS allows you to move away from the traditional typed SMS and instead you can record your own message and send it by SMS. It is a convenient, easy, fast, effective, simple way to send an instant personalized Voice SMS without the need for the recipient to have an active voicemail box. It is offered to all MTN PayMonthly and MTN PayAsYouGo subscribers and ideal for people who find texting difficult, time consuming or inconvenient, plus a nice way to add emotion in messages.
To use the service, simply press star (*) followed by the recipient’s phone number and press Call, you then hear a voice prompt to record your message. Messages are a maximum of 15 seconds each.
The recipient receives an SMS from MTN telling them that they have received a Voice SMS from you (with your number, time and date it was sent) and the recipient can dial *1111 to hear their message. They can then reply, forward the message to others, change their language or go to their next message.
The sender and receiver can select their preferred language on first use of the service, thereafter all voice prompts will be heard in that language. Choice of English and Greek is available. They will also have the option to change it whenever they like.
The sending party will receive an SMS delivery report when the recipient has heard their voice message. Unheard messages will remain saved for 2 weeks before being deleted.
PricingPricing will be €0.055 cents (incl VAT) for postpaid customers sending a voice SMS message and €0.071 cents (incl VAT) cents for prepaid customers sending a voice SMS. These costs apply per call to star (*) plus the number of the recipient for MTN VoiceSMS Message sent.
Pricing will be €0.055 cents (incl VAT) for postpaid customers receiving a voice SMS and €0.071 cents (incl VAT) for prepaid customers receiving a voice SMS. These prices apply for calls to *1111 to retrieve a message, whether they use the reply and forward option or not. The charge is per call, and is not related to the duration of the call.
Terms and Conditions- Service is only available to MTN PayMonthly and MTN PayAsYouGo subscribers while being connected on MTN network and cannot be used to connect with another network.
- Any subscriber on a foreign network, national or international will only be notified that a message was received
- A message can only be sent if the Caller ID Restriction option is disabled.
- Service is charged when leaving voice messages as well as retrieving voice messages.
