Posted on: September 6, 2013

FUNIFI, formed by Andrew Michael founder, George Vou & Denis Constantinou, conceived and implemented their business idea at STARTup LiVE Cyprus with the support of MTN and thus, managed to win the third prize at the first ever international competition for startups in Cyprus.

FUNIFI used the prize granted by MTN to enter the Tech Open Air Berlin, where it received impressive feedback and was chosen to participate in the three month Startupbootcamp in Copenhagen, the biggest European accelerator.
At the same time, FUNIFI were invited to present their idea at the top European tech summit, Web Summit, whilst the internationally renowned tech site, TechCrunch, has already displayed it online.

The concept envisioned by the startup FUNIFI motivates kids to get their chores done, teaching them responsibility and providing them independence through a unique incentive based platform. Parents are able to assign tasks for kids and as they are completed the kids accumulate points which can be exchanged for parent sponsored rewards, e.g movies Friday night with a friend, or shop the the Funifi store for popular mobile apps & games or physical goods from strategic partners.

‘‘MTN is very proud for the FUNIFI team and its success. They did us justice because we were the first to put faith and invest in the Cypriot tech community and the potential of young people.
Through Open Coffee Cyprus and
STARTup LiVE Cyprus, we educate tech community, enhance it’s networking in Europe and at the same time, introduce Cyprus into the European startup entrepreneurship map.
As pioneers in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, we will continue to promote Cypriot startups. We wish the best of luck to FUNIFI and we reassure them that we will stand by their side, with great prospects of future cooperation
” stated ΜΤΝ’s Marketing Officer, Thanos Chronopoulos.
