MTN awards the three finalists of the second MTN Innovation Challenge

After a draining first phase, the judging committee of MTN Innovation Challenge, the biggest nation-wide innovation contest, awarded the top three ideas.
The three finalist Peakkin, PayCoin και Travel Quests received a 5.000 euro check each in a ceremony that took place on Tuesday the 15th of September at MTN head offices.
The second and final phase of the competition will take place on the 30th of September, where the finalist will present their ideas in detail, claiming the competition's prize of 20000 euro in cash as well as the opportunity to commercially launch their product through the MTN network.

The winners were congratulated by Philip Van Dalsen, CEO of MTN who said: “We are once again proud that we have organized the most popular youth entrepreneurship contest in Cyprus and thrilled from the level and quality of the participants. Congratulations to the three winners. The important feedback that we got means that MTN meets two fundamental needs of Cypriot society: technological innovation and job prospects. MTN and the Innovation Challenge will continue to reward innovative youth that have ideas and vison for the future.”

The MTN Innovation Challenge competition
MTN Innovation Challenge takes place for the second consecutive time, offering to startup businesses the much required infrastructure, guidance and financial support in order to present and implement innovative and sustainable business ideas in the field of digital technology.
The ideas for this year should concern one of the following three sectors: Tourism, education and business productivity. The jury of MTN Innovation Challenge consists of eminent academics and representatives from the business world of Cyprus and abroad.
Through the Innovation Challenge contest, MTN demonstrates and expands its practical support towards the local startup community and systematically invests the past few years, through various platforms such as Open Coffee Cyprus, Startup Live Cyprus, Startup Weekend Cyprus and IDEA.
