This Christmas, MTN offered to 1.100 primary school students from the Education Priority Zones all over Cyprus, the opportunity  to enjoy a theatrical play for free.

The theatrical play “Kastanomallousa”, directed by Nicolas Nicolaides from Giorgos Tsiakkas’ LEXI Theater, took place at Latsia Municipal Theater on the 18th and 19th of December. Students from twenty ZEP Schools of Nicosia, Larnaca, Famagusta, Limassol and Paphos attended the play and had the opportunity to meet the actors in person, receive autographs and take photos with them.

MTN covered the cost of the two plays, as well as the transportation expenses of all students and in addition, it offered kids gifts and free breakfast.

MTN’s CEO Mr Philip van Dalsen attended the performance and stated “Christmas is special for all and no child should be deprived of the Christmas spirit joy. 1.100 families allowed us to escort their children in an amazing theatrical play for kids and spend a fun day with them; that was the greatest honour and the best Christmas gift for us.

Mr Elpidoforos Neocleous, Director of Primary Education, stated “The Ministry of Culture and Education would like to thank MTN for offering two theatrical plays, free transportation and breakfast to 1.100 children from ZEP primary schools. I want to congratulate everyone involved for their contribution, as in the light of the current financial hardships that Cyprus experiences, such efforts manage to partially balance potential occurring inequalities”.

The MTN family is very pleased for having the chance to scatter smiles and happiness to those children who need it the most!
